Rebuilding a major local employer

An accelerated rebuild was required to return a processing plant lost to fire in early 2010. With hundreds of local jobs impacted, a seven day per week and at times 24/7 schedule was adopted to restore production some eight months after commencing.

A site based design team was established to coordinate closely with construction activities. A major upgrade to the anerobic treatment pond system and introduction of a reverse osmosis treatment plant were included in the works.

Agile design and construct approach with night shift at critical stages

  • New bird unloading, kill floor, boning
    room, freezer retention tunnels and
    palletising / despatch docks
  • Process services and fitout
  • New anerobic pond system harvesting
    gas for water pre-heat
  • Plant restored to production in 9 months
